The rose-pink light of dusk fell over the hollows of my eyes. I watched the last of the morning winter snows melt away into sleet and frost, the mist settling like a hush over the world. Warmth spread through my chest, and my heartbeat fluttered like a bird's, content. I lifted my fingers to rest my hand soft against my cheekbones, to lean against my palm and sigh as the day drew to a close. For a moment, everything stood still. My hand was three-fingered, and plum blue. My first thought was bruising or frostbite from the snow. Was I going to freeze to death? In panic, I looked down at my wrist. It was blue. In the fading light, I stared down at my body, and wanted to faint. My pulse beat against my ribs in panic. My skin was dark blue, and covered in strange scars and symbols, like primitive tattoos.
"This is a dream." I pinched the blue skin my blue skin hard. I ran my fingertips over the marks. They seemed to cover every inch of me. I spun around in shock, and heard a

"I think I've finally done it! I think I have found a way to separate Justice and me. I have tested it out on Hawke, the only other mage I know who has the stamina and physique to withstand these experiments. The goal of the experiment was to successfully lure a demon or spirit to his mind and then, in turn, send it away.
The mixture contained four parts elfroot, two parts saltpeter and one part cheese. Barely ten seconds after consuming the mixture Hawke went into violent convulsions for half a minute, an episode that ended with him foaming at the mouth before falling back on the table.
His heart rate had gone up, as well as his temperature, but he seemed fine otherwise. After he woke up, I inquired how he felt. His response was curious at first, as if he didn't know where he was. He simply stared at me, wide eyed, his mouth opening and closing in something resembling terror. Then, finally, he answered me. 'Where the hell am I?'
I, of course in the
Freaky FridayI open my eyes, looking into those of a complete stranger. She was around seventeen (my age) tall and had really dark hair. I gave a small startled squeak. The girl smiled at me, no she was laughing. Then she left my side and shouted "Skulduggery! She's awake, finally!"
I sat up and looked around me. I was in a shabby apartment with hardly anything in it. There were a few chairs a table, a coat hanger, and the sofa I was lying on. The girl came back pulling a tall figure behind her. My eyes were puffed up and watery and couldn't see much, unless it was directly in front of me.
"Good morning Tanith," The tall figure said. Tanith, why did that name sound familiar? "You've been out for about, I don't know, twelve hours."
"What... I... Where am I?" I rub my eyes and things get just a tad clearer.
"We're at Skulduggery's apartment." The girl spoke again.
"Who?" I'm not sure if I've been kidnapped or just lost.
"I'll let you rest some more, ok?" She patted my cheek, I felt too wea
Freaky Friday in the LabyrinthYears of writing about the Labyrinth and its inhabitants had apparently finally overtaken my senses. At least that is what I told myself when I woke up yesterday morning. Shaking off the unrestful slumber I realized quickly that I was sitting on the floor of a room that was much colder and felt very foreign. Reaching for the nearby vanity the face staring back at me is not mine, but that of the object of my infatuation the Goblin King! But how could this be? My mind tried to process what happened as the room twirled around on me. The unfamiliar hand thrust out to the side to grab the stool so that I could sit down and not fall over. Head in my hands I stared into the mirror seeing eyes I did not expect to ever see.
What was I to do now? I drummed my fingers on the surface as I stared into the mirror hoping for some spark of inspiration to tell me how to fix this. While I loved the
Fallout"You have the pistol to my forehead, you have the control here."
"I do. So I'm going to ask you again, why do you look like me?"
"Put the gun down and we can talk about it. Ok, ok, easy. Easy. I don't know what happened. I don't know why I look like you and you look like me."
"That's not a good enough answer."
"Please, please! I didn't do anything! I woke up like looking like you."
"No. You don't look like me. You are I and I'm you. Our bodies anyway. Certainly not intellectually or mentally, but physically, yes. Get up."
"What are you going to do to me?"
"I'm going to get my body back. But I have some questions first, about this world you live in. Sit. What year is it?"
"Two thousand and twelve."
"What place is this?"
"Nanaimo. That's in Canada."
"Canada? It was annexed by the United States of America but no, perhaps not yet. Tell me, do you know who I am?"
"Yes. I don't know why you're here or how. But I know you."
"Go on then, enlighten me."
